YO is just the starting of Elev8 – One of the best things about music is when it hits you. You feel no pain. This artist has been making hits for just over two decades. This is about us giving the greats their flowers now One of the best things about music is when it hits you. You feel no pain. This artist has been making hits for just over two decades. This is about us giving the greats their flowers now. Well, there is one such artist that has been changing or better yet constantly evolving in just about every sense. From his workout routines to his promotion of a healthy lifestyle and all. Let’s talk about Marlon Williams aka Bling Dawg. He was once and still a part of the world renowned Alliance lead by Bounty Killa.
I’m not going to say he’s back. The brother never left he just went on a course of self-improvement and development. We can say from the late ’90s to date he has to be considered one of the most diverse songwriters and lyricists. He has showcased with the best of them and battled the rest of them and he is still growing.
Now with his new album on its way and over a year of putting together this masterpiece he is poised to be not just a solid Dancehall artist but a prolific artist in general now that he is showing his range and versatility in doing more Reggae inclined songs. Showing not only that he has a plan but the fact he is growing and that’s key. His latest single out now “YO” which features Christopher Martin is one that already is heating up as a hit for Autumn and Christmas. The single was produced by non other that Damian Junior Gong Marley. Now that’s enough to say Bling is poised to have a solid impact with his upcoming album.
The title of his album “Elev8” is a star-studded project. Coming from the Alliance family it seems to be a positive year for all former members of the once hardest Dancehall squad to come out of Jamaica. With all these great acts dropping music it feels very nostalgic but yet feels so fresh and new. Bling did not compromise having several great producers and duets with legends within the industry.
Bling Dawg has found a space and a comfort level that has him making hits again. As long as he is happy then we are happy. Good to see our hitmaker back making hits.
